Cindy’s initial reason for taking yoga classes in 2000 was as a complement to weight-training. “I wanted a systematic approach that focused on alignment, stability and mobility. Iyengar yoga fit the requirements. What immediately appealed to me about this method of yoga is that it is appropriate for anyone – regardless of age, degree of health or other perceived limitations.” Cindy’s respect for the depth and thoroughness of Iyengar yoga became a natural progression to entering the teacher-training program at Yoga Centre Toronto in 2005. She has made one study trip to Pune. “I’ve gained an understanding of the body, mind, breath and movement connection. And the realization that my yoga journey is for a lifetime!” Cindy is also a YCT Board member.
