Niren Pandya

Niren practises Iyengar yoga as it is an integrated form to experience all the eight limbs of yoga. Niren teaches to share the experience that yoga can have on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Niren was introduced to Iyengar yoga in 1978 at the young age of six by Kobad Variava. Though he didn’t study it for many years, it remained a part of his life until he reconnected with Kobad and studied with him from 2001-2004.

In 2004 Niren moved to Toronto where he completed the teacher training at YCT in 2007-08 under Marlene Mawhinney’s guidance.

Niren lived in Mumbai from 2008 till 2015 and studied with Zubin Zarthosthimanesh at Iyengar Yogabhyasa. He has taught at Iyengar Yogabhyasa from 2009 till 2015.

On his visits to RIMYI in Pune, Niren has been fortunate to attend classes with Prashantji Iyengar. He has also attended Geetaji Iyengar’s 10-day Pranayama workshop in 2013 and Yoganusasanam in 2014.

Certification: Intermediate Junior 2*

*Niren has been studying and teaching in Mumbai, India for the last nine years under Zubin Zarthoshimanesh, one of the most senior Iyengar teachers in the world. As the certification system does not exist in India, Zubin has deemed Niren at the Jr. Intermediate II level. Niren is currently waiting to take the exam in Canada.
